Elizabeth and Robert lived in multiple cities including Bainbridge, GA; Oklahoma City, OK and Fort Worth, TX before settling on Oakwood Drive and then moving to Frenchman’s Bend in Monroe, LA where she was a 50+ year resident. She was also a Chi Omega Sorority member and was active in the local chapter for many years. She maintained active memberships in several historical and civic organizations including Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and First Families of Mississippi. During her time in Monroe, she made many friends and organized or participated in bridge, luncheon, and several investment clubs while also being a “Betty Crocker” mom taking care of her three boys and husband. She was fortunate to be able to travel the world with her late step sister, Zoe Mae Hebert, including trips to Africa, Singapore, Rio De Janeiro, Hong Kong, and Korea. She also traveled with Robert to London, Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska, the Grand Canyon, and recently to South Dakota. She loved to read, spend time at the beach, and tend to her gardens and potted plants, but most of all she cherished spending time with her “boys” and grandkids.
The twinkle in Elizabeth’s eye and zest for life will forever be cherished by her husband Robert Dale Tickner, Jr. of Monroe, La; sons Robert (Bobby) Dale Tickner, III and wife Jennifer of Madison, MS; James Hartwell Tickner and wife Stephanie of Mandeville, LA; William Preston Tickner and wife Melissa (Missy) of Madison, MS; grandsons Robert and George Tickner of Madison, MS; granddaughter Emily Tickner of Mandeville, LA and grandson James Tickner, Jr. of Mandeville, LA; granddaughters Zoe and Alle Tickner of Madison, MS along with several cousins.
