Elise “Leesie” Chapman

Memorial Services for Elise “Leesie” Chapman, of Newellton, LA, will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at Belah United Methodist Church, 1188 Hwy 773, Trout, LA 71371. Leesie passed away on November 15, 2018, in Monroe, LA.

Leesie was born on April 9, 1953, in Newellton, LA. She was a great cook and was quick to let you know it. She was sharp-witted and took great delight in making us laugh with her many impressions. She loved animals, especially cats. Leesie had a vast knowledge of birds and their behavior. She looked forward to feeding the birds twice a day with her special recipe. Hundreds of hummingbirds flocked to her feeders yearly. Leesie enjoyed watching movies, especially classics. She was a proud caretaker and homemaker.

Leesie handled her illness with grace and grit. Her positive attitude and faith were an inspiration to her family. She kept her sense of humor through her final days.

Ms. Chapman was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. William A. Chapman, Sr. and Mary Finley Chapman; and sister, Hannah Chapman.

Survivors include her son, Warren Cutrer; siblings, William A. Chapman, Jr., Lauchlan Nelson and husband John; and niece, Mary Elise Nelson.

Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society in Leesie’s memory.
