Eileen Baur, 103, was born in Oak Ridge, LA, October 28, 1914, and passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017, at her home in St. Joseph, LA. She lived in Mer Rouge, LA, until she moved to Monroe and went to Georgia Tucker School and the Monroe City Schools until her senior year. She graduated from Mangham High School in 1932. She attended North East Junior College now known as the University of LA in Monroe, and graduated from Louisiana Tech in 1936. She later earned her Master’s Degree at LA Tech. She taught at Neville High School from 1953-1973. She was a charter member of Parkview Baptist Church in Monroe, where she taught a Sunday School class for ten years. She was an alumni of Kappa Delta Sorority. She resided on Lake Bruin in St. Joseph, LA since the early 1960’s.
Mrs. Baur was preceded in death by her two husbands, Earl Fred Stovall and Charles Robert “Chili” Baur; her parents, Dr. L.R. Hemler and Bennie Flynn Hemler; and her brother, Larkin Ryan Hemler, Jr.
She leaves one sister, Ouida Hemler Stowell Stonecipher; and six special nieces, Kay Stowell Walters, Linda Stowell Max, Sandi Hemler Stevens, Marsha Hemler Mooney, Jean Stovall Lee, and Colleen Colter Dykes.
In honor of Eileen’s wishes, there will be no services held. Interment will be at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum, in Monroe, LA.
