Edward R. Greenlee
Memorial services celebrating the life of Edward R. Greenlee, 67, of Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 4, 2019, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA.
Ed was born in Monroe, LA, on December 22, 1951, and passed away on Friday, April 19, 2019, at his residence.
Ed was a graduate of Neville High School, Northeast Louisiana University, and received his law degree from L.S.U. He was an active member of the Kiwanis Club and the Monroe Lions Club. He served the legal profession in several areas, as Monroe City Prosecutor, Assistant District Attorney, Public Defender in both St. John and in Ouachita Parish, contract Attorney for Louisiana Appellate Project. He was appointed as Executive Director of Louisiana. Indigent Defender Board. He also worked in the Real Estate firm for ESPN announcer for Lee Corso. Ed never missed meeting up with Lee on LSU game day. Ed was in private practice at the time of his death.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents James and Frances Greenlee of Monroe.
Survivors include brother, Jim Greenlee of Lake, MS; niece, Miranda Ellsworth and her five children; Goddaughter Camille Nugent and her sons. Ed also remained close with his ex-wife Leslie Smith Simpson. He is also survived by many cousins and friends.
