Funeral services for Edward Lester Little, Sr., 68, of Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday October 28, 2008 at Cedar Crest Baptist Church in West Monroe with Dr. Greg Clark officiating. Interment will be held at 1:00 PM at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA.
Mr. Little was born on January 2, 1940 and passed away at The Terrace in West Monroe, LA on October 23, 2008. He was a member of Cedar Crest Baptist Church. Lester was in the last class to graduate from Ouachita Parish High School on South Grand. Lester loved camping, fishing, gardening, and woodworking. He also enjoyed tractor shows and antique tractors. Lester retired from General Motors, working in Monroe, LA and Shreveport, LA. He owned his own roofing business and was a “jack of all trades” in everything he did. He was a 32nd degree mason, member of the Monroe Scottish Rite Bodies and also Mason member of Walker- George Lodge No. 467 in Swartz, LA. Mr. Little also loved his chocolate cocker spaniel, Misty Gale.
He is preceded in death by his youngest son, Tobin Kent Little; parents, Troy Jack and Lois Irene Little; and sister, Margie Deed Little McNease.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Brenda Wallace Little; sons, Edward Lester Little, Jr. and wife Donna and Ronald Dean Little and wife Jo Ana; grandsons, Tobin Isaac Little, Ethan Luke Little, and Noah Jonathan Little; granddaughters, Patricia “Nikki” Nacole Little Owens and husband Jacob, Misty LeAnn Little, and Hali Michelle Little and their mother, Tina Little Rogers and husband Kenny; great grandchildren, Brayden and Harley Kate Owens; brother, Robert Kent Little and wife Paula of California; sister, Jackie Irene Little Britt and husband L.J. of Natchez, MS; brother, Calvin Richard Little and wife Sharon of Monroe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Warren Windham, Joe Windham, Jeff Sunsin, Blythe McDuffie, Wayne Johnson, Jim Glass, James Jennings and Larry Blackmon.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA
Memorials may be made to the Building Fund at Cedar Crest Baptist Church on Arkansas Road.
