Graveside services for Mrs. Edith Joy Southern, 69, of Rayville, LA will be 2 PM Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Greer Cemetery in Rayville, LA,
Rev. Roger Temple officiated and interment to follow in the cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home-Rayville, LA
Mrs. Joy was a retired waitress and a member of Shady Grove Church of God, She loved reading, but most of all she loved her family. She was preceded in death by her parents Ivy Ray Crawford, Sr. and Gertrude Loyd Crawford, her husband James Willard Southern, Sr., two sisters Margie Lacriox and Betty Jean Antley, one brother Wiley Fay Crawford.
She is survived by three daughters Donna Johnston and her husband Ricky of Rayville, LA, Thereasa Southern of Waverly, LA, Tonya Nelson and her husband Danny of Hawkins, TX, and just like daughters granddaughter Makayla Grace Berryof Rayville, LA and God niece Bonnie Hudson of Hawkins, TX; two sons, Thomas Ray Southern of Waverly, LA and James Willard Southern, Jr, of Rayville, LA; one sister Sadie Ray Franks and her husband Heston of Baskin, LA; two brothers, Jerry Lee Crawford and his wife Gwen and Ivy Ray Crawford, Jr. both of Rayville, LA
14 Grandchildren and 2 Great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Johnston, Clayton Southern, Jeremy Berry, Christopher Berry, Waymon Shaw and Rafael Maldonado.
Visitation was from 10 AM until 1 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
