Ed was a member of the first graduating class of Greene County Tech in Paragould, AR. He worked as a farmer and in various manufacturing jobs before serving on active duty for 4 years in the US Navy. In Ruston, they enjoyed over 3 decades of serving at their church, camping, fishing, and entertaining friends in their country home. There was little that Ed enjoyed more than hooking a white perch while fishing with his best friend, Dr. Jack Cox!

Ed is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elsie Higgins Spiller, his parents, Fredrick and Nora Meadows Spiller, and 9 siblings: Cecil & Loyal Childress, Geneva Spiller Darr, Atlee, Glendee, Gerald, Clifford, Freeman, and John Spiller.
Ed's nieces and nephews were more like siblings to him. He is predeceased by 10 and survived by 4: Eddie, Pat, Shelby, and Wayne.
