Earline Marie Savage

June 25, 1950 — April 30, 2012

Rejoice in the celebration of the life of Earline Marie Savage age 61 will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at North Monroe Baptist Church in Monroe, La. Officiating the service will be Dr. Bill Dye assisted by Reverend Warren Eckhardt and Reverend David Worthington. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Born in New Orleans, La on June 25, 1950 Earline went home to her beloved Lord on April 30, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Earline waged a courageous and valiant battle against cancer, and she did so with dignity, a positive attitude, and perseverance. Earline touched all who knew her and came in contact with her.

Earline graduated from LSU in Baton Rouge, La. and retired from Sterlington High School in Sterlington, La. after 28 years as a teacher. Earline loved teaching and was always expanding her knowledge by studying and attending workshops and continuing education classes in order to be a better teacher. Earline was willing to work long hours including weekends to better educate the young students she was entrusted with and still be a devoted mother to her children. Earline was “Teacher of the Year” many times during her career. 

Earline was an active member of North Monroe Baptist Church and especially loved her Sunday school class. Earline’s pride and joy were her six grandchildren. Earline had a great “Green Thumb” for her garden and was a tireless hiker.

Earline was preceded in death by her father Henry Lacinak Sr. and her sister Darlene Lacinak. Earline is survived by her mother Earline and husband Richard Shoemaker of New Orleans, La., loving and devoted husband Rick Savage of Monroe, La., daughter Colleen and husband Andy Fox of Houston, TX., son Kirk and wife Jessica Webb of Fort Worth, TX., stepdaughters Tracey and husband Tom Cassidy III of Memphis, TN., Tara and husband Brian Jennings of Oxford, Ms., brother Henry and Adele Lacinak  of Baton Rouge, La., sister Darlene and husband Louis Downing of New Orleans, La., brother Chris Lacinak of New Orleans, La., six grandchildren Sarah Cassidy, Jordan Jennings, Tommy Cassidy, Kalynne Jennings, Jackson Fox, and Kylee Webb, and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Durwood Kuhn, Al Webb, Charlie Heard, Roger Kinnison, Mike Green, and George Delahoussaye.

Honorary pallbearers are the Jim Berry Sunday School class at North Monroe Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

The family wishes to thank all the great devoted doctors and nurses at St. Francis Hospital Monroe, La., MD Anderson Cancer Ctr. Houston, Tx., and the excellent hospice care provided by the staff of Hospice Compasses Monroe, La.  Christian love has so much been demonstrated and enjoyed by the family with the overflowing of prayers, love, cards, visits, phone calls, and food.

As Earline would say:  “Rejoice! Rejoice! Rejoice”
