Funeral services for Earl Chelette, 74, of West Monroe will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday September 29, 2011 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe with Rev. Woods Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens in West Monroe under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe.
Mr. Chelette was born on September 23, 1937 in Alexandria, LA, and passed away on September 25, 2011 in Monroe, LA. He was a member of First Baptist Church in West Monroe. Mr. Chelette was an avid sportsman. He loved hunting, fishing and West Monroe High School football. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Alphus and Ruth Chelette, first wife and mother of his children, Earlene Marie Chelette, and brother, Ralph Chelette.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Chelette, sons, Kevin and wife Kim, Curt and wife Cindy, C. Dale and wife Vicky, daughter, Mickala Chelette Ford and husband Glenn; stepsons, Kirk and wife Terri Gallien, Greg and wife Robin Gallien, Gary and wife Michelle Gallien; grandchildren, Christi, Cory, Lindsay, Alyssa and Justin Chelette, Cody, Kaleb and Kasey Ford; step grandchildren, Jim and Jon Grant, Brandon and Kristen Chauvin, Ryne, Sabrina, Jared, Grant, Gabe and Chloe Gallien; sisters, Bettye Huber, Katherine Coffman, Joyce Strickland; and his beloved and special canine friend, Jole’.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Bunn, Jeff Donald, Scott Fordham, Larry Peaker, Steve Tippen and Brad Warden. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday September 28, 2011 at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe.
