Dr. Georgianna Tsekouras BurnsFuneral services for Dr. Georgianna Tsekouras Burns, 60, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Swartz Assembly of God with Rev. Gerald Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.Dr. Burns died Thursday, August 7, 2014, at Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge, LA. She was born in Weirton, WV on April 11, 1954. She graduated Weir Senior High in 1972 as the Valedictorian of her class. She went on to obtain a medical degree in Pediatrics in 1979 from West Virginia University. Dr. Burns practiced pediatrics in Pt. Pleasant, WV; St. Albans, WV; Lumberton, NC; and Monroe, LA. She was an active member of Swartz Assembly of God ChurchDr. Burns was preceded in death by her parents, Patelis and Mary Tsekouras; and sister, Helen Tsekouras.Survivors include her daughter, Kathryn Elizabeth Burns of Monroe, LA; son, Patrick C.F.
