Memorial Services for Dr. George M. Sartor will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Alto Baptist Church in Alto, LA, with Pastor Neil Everett officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until service time on Saturday at the church.
Dr. George M Sartor of McKinney, Texas formerly a resident of West Monroe, Louisiana passed away August 1, 2021 at the age of 91. He was born December 19, 1929 to Frank Balfour Sartor and Earline Zula (Williams) Sartor in Alto, Louisiana.
George met the love of his life, Marilyn Harper, in the eighth grade, and after a lengthy courtship they married November 26, 1953. George graduated from LSU Medical School, New Orleans in 1956. He proudly served as a physician in the United States Air Force. He, Marilyn and family were stationed in Shreveport, LA and later in Laredo, TX. Returning to civilian life the family settled in West Monroe, Louisiana in 1963. He and Marilyn raised six children in West Monroe where he practiced medicine until his retirement in 1994. They were members of Ridge Avenue Baptist Church and later the First Baptist Church of West Monroe. In 2006, George and Marilyn moved to McKinney, TX to be near family. They were actively involved with family and friends and became members of the Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church of Allen, TX. George and Marilyn enjoyed 61 years of marriage before her passing in 2015.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda Sartor Choate and husband, Michael; son George M. Sartor II and wife, Paula; daughter, Nora Sartor Frederick; son, Claiborne H. Sartor and wife Vickie; daughter, Marilyn Dianne Sartor Stephenson and husband, Reggie; son, Paul Emmett Sartor and wife, Serena; grandchildren, Amanda Choate Rengifo and husband, Dan; Jeannine Choate McGown and husband, Simon; Suzanne Choate Duncan and husband, Harry; Tracy Sartor Novak and husband, Neal; Ashley Sartor Aguilar, Sydney Sartor Arnett and husband, Bradley; Hannah Frederick, Georgianne Sartor Perry and husband, Nick; Sierra Sartor and Hailey Sartor; Karlee Stephenson, Dustin Posey and wife, Linzie; Lisa Marie McMillan and husband, Chad ; great grandchildren; Sadie, Cece, Maxie, Ian, Marci, Evelyn, Benjamin, Charley Madison, Chaz, Gavin and Garrett and a host of other family members.
