Dr. Frank Paul Rizzo, Jr. passed away peacefully at 12:35 a.m. Sunday, December 3, 2023, surrounded by his children. To many, he was known as Dr. Rizzo, Dr. Buddy or just Buddy. To his family, he was Dad & PaPaw. Born and raised in Monroe, Louisiana, Buddy was a graduate of Neville High School’s Class of 1957. He was a Tulane University undergraduate & graduate of Tulane Medical School in General and Vascular Surgery. He received Tulane’s Golden Diploma for 50 years of Medical Service. After semi-retirement, he enjoyed several years teaching Surgery at E.A. Conway Medical Center. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a physician at the 31st Field Hospital in Thailand. He was a huge Neville Tiger & Tulane Green Wave fan; you could find him almost every Friday night on the Neville football field sidelines serving as the team’s volunteer physician. He enjoyed cheering on many of Neville’s winning football seasons & championships! In his final years, it brought him happiness that Tulane finally had a winning football team! He had a true love for hunting and fishing which he taught and passed down to his son and grandsons. He was one of the founders and a lifelong member of Mallard Farms where many locals and celebrities have had the pleasure to hunt. He was greatly loved by his children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. He taught them so many life lessons and his laughter and kindness will forever be missed. He truly valued his great friendships as well. For those who called him a friend, our family thanks you for enriching his life.
He is preceded in death by, His parents; Dr. and Mrs. Frank Paul Rizzo, Sr. and his son Frank Paul Rizzo, III.
