Memorial services for Dr. Bill McConkey, 87, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 1, 2017 in the chapel at Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Road Monroe, LA with Tom Lee officiating.
Dr. McConkey died Sunday, January 29, 2017, at St. Francis Medical. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and The Lions Club. Dr. McConkey was a professor at ULM for many years.
Dr. McConkey was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth Higgs McConkey.
Survivors include his wife Elizabeth McConkey; children, Kimberly Beth Cohen and husband Alan; grandchildren, Gretchen Peterson and husband Ernest Wallace; Lisa White and husband Reuben, Katherine Harrington and husband Jeremy; great grandchildren, Kayli Wallace, Charlie Wallace, Joshua Wallace, Julia White, Hattie White, Maren White, Ryan Harrington, Ashlynn Harrington; and brother, Robert McConkey and wife Rose.
Visitation will be 9:00 AM until service time Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to The Lions Club Cub Site and the Desiard Street Shelter.
