Douglas Wayne Naron

November 3, 1942 — July 12, 2020

Private family services will be held Thursday July 16, 2020 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA due to the COVID 19 safety concerns.

Mr. Naron died July 12, 2020 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, LA

Wayne is a native of Monroe and a graduate of Ouachita Parish High School class of 1960. He attended LA Tech with the intention of a career as a Mechanical Engineer, but found a new calling a few years later and joined the United States Air Force in 1962. His career led him and his family of 3 daughters around the United States. As a father, he coached their sports team and served as a high school band booster. After retiring as a 20 year veteran of the USAF, he completed a degree in Accounting at LSUS, moved back home to Monroe and began a second career and also retired from State Farm Insurance Company.

Wayne was always a very active man, loving to watch and play sports all of his life. He was also gifted in music, singing gospel quartets with his sisters. Later in life, his passion became focused on family and traveling with his wife Patti, whether on a Caribbean Cruise, Hawaii, or making the circle to visit their 7 children and many grandchildren. He loved his family dearly and was heartbroken when his wife, Patti, was called home in September 2018. Today, we celebrate that he is also home, no longer a slave to an earthly body, but rejoicing with his Savior.
