Funeral services for Dorothy Mae Kelly Anding, 89, of West Monroe, will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, November 19, 2017, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Norman Bryant officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Anding was born May 16, 1928 in West Monroe, LA and passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017, in Monroe. She worked at F. W. Woolworth, Olin Kraft Bag Factory, Famous Fabric Shop, and was display manager at J C Penney’s. Mrs. Anding helped with the opening of the new Penney’s stores in Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana. She was Set Designer for Miss Louisiana Teenage Pageants. She graduated from St. Matthews. She attended St. Paschal’s and Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Churches. Mrs. Anding was a member of Catholic Daughters of America and Eastern Star.
Mrs. Anding was preceded in death by her parents, James Albert Kelly and Ina Mae Lutze Kelly Carsey; step-father, Harvey John Carsey, Sr; sister, Audrey Sue Kelly Freeland; brother, Courtney Hill Kelly; half-brother, Devon Albert Kelly; half-sister, Marion Elizabeth Carsey King; god-mother, Mary Adams; god-sisters, Liza Adams, and Roberta Adams Talley; and god-brother, James Adams.
Survivors include her daughter, Carla Ann Anding Steverson and husband James “Jim” Edward of Highland Village, TX and Monroe, LA; grandsons, Jason Wade Steverson of Monroe, LA, and Daniel Blake Steverson of Arlington, TX; great grandson, Griffin Wade Steverson of Monroe, LA; brother, Albert Junior Kelly and wife Faye of Monroe, LA; sisters, Mary Arliece Kelly Wade Anderson and husband Andy of Friendswood, TX and Lillian Ann Kelly Hefley Sims of Calhoun, LA; half-brother, Harvey John Carsey, Jr. and wife Kathleen of Baytown, TX ; best friend, Ann Cascio of Monroe, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Chris Howse, Paul Cascio, Al Kelly, Kenny Kelly, Thomas Spruell, and Greg Jones.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 PM until service time at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
