Dorothy Lucille "Dot" McDougald

Dorothy Lucille "Dot" McDougald, 85, was born on December 22, 1931, in Tift County, Georgia, and passed away peacefully on September 25, 2017, in West Monroe, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by J. C. "Mac" McDougald, her loving husband of 57 years; her parents J.T. and Ethel Bruce; six brothers and one sister. Dot was a member of Parkview Baptist Church, Monroe, since 1963.

She is survived by sons, Bruce McDougald and wife Cindy, and Blake McDougald; daughter, Betsy Farmer; granddaughter, Michelle Rushing and husband Kevin; grandsons, David McDougald and wife Julie, and Bo McDougald; sister, Sue Shepherd and husband Ray; three great grandsons and one great granddaughter; many nieces and nephews, and special nephew Terry Williams and wife Kim.

The family will have visitation on Friday, September 29, 2017, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, 2308 Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A private family burial will be held on September 30, 2017.

Dot enjoyed all sports and especially loved the game of golf. She was active at Riverside and Pine Hills clubs, and on her travels, was able to play courses in Hawaii, Brazil, and elsewhere. But above all else, she truly loved her family and friends.
