Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Cooper Turner of Monroe will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 3, 2007, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Gerald Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Turner passed away Saturday, September 29, 2007, after a brief illness. She was a member of Swartz Assembly of God Church, and Am Vets Post 66. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Turner; and parents, Bill and Vera Cooper.
Survivors include her sons, Jerry M. Turner and wife Sharon of Marion, LA, and Jimmie R. Turner of Swartz, LA; daughter, Rickie Turner Baker and husband Tom of Sterlington, LA; brother, James Cooper of Dubach, LA; sister, Louise Bain of Rome, GA; four grandchildren, Tanya Lowry and husband Blake, Charissa McKinnie and husband Peyton, Jason Baker and wife Nicole, and Jessica Turner; four great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Billy George McKinnie, Gary Stuart, Ernie Bruce, Peyton McKinnie, Blake Lowry, Mike Spillers, and Kenneth Turner.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to American Lung or American Heart Association.
