On April 28, 2011, Doris “Jean” West Wilkinson, 82, of Monroe, went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ and her heavenly family who welcomed her with open arms. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 30, 2011, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with her niece Rev. Cindy Goza and Rev. Joe Solomon officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Jean lived life to its fullest and found so many ways to celebrate and make the most out of every day. She was 15 days shy of her 83rd birthday. Nothing was more important to her than her family and friends. She considered herself rich, not because of wealth or possessions, but because of the treasure she found with the people she knew and loved. Those who knew her will say that their lives are enriched because of the laughter and stories that were shared.
Mrs. Wilkinson was a member of First Baptist Church of West Monroe, and was a volunteer at North Monroe, LA Parents Without Partners and Council on Aging.
Mrs. Wilkinson was preceded in death by her parents, D. Emmet and Doris West; and sister, Beth Goza.
