Dora Holloway Hemphill

Funeral services for Dora Holloway Hemphill, 82, of Sterlington, will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 23, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, with Rev. Curtis Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hemphill was born February 5, 1936 and passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018. She was the founder of Hemphill Plant Farm in Sterlington and was well respected in the community. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her main priority in life. She took care of and loved them all unconditionally.

Mrs. Hemphill was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Glynn Hemphill, Sr.; and twin children, Bradley Clay Hemphill and Melissa Gay Hemphill.

Survivors include her children, Glenda Bradford and husband Scott of Sterlington, Deanna Eley of West Monroe, Jennifer Yarbrough and husband Jay of Sterlington, Thomas Glynn Hemphill, Jr. and wife Robyn of Sterlington, Jeff Hemphill and wife Jessica of Sterlington, and Tony Hemphill and wife Angela of Sterlington; 20 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Judy Harris and Lynn Sparks and husband Emmett; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
