Donnie Louis Easterling

Services for Donnie Louis Easterling, 82 of Winnsboro will be 10:00AM Thursday, December 27, 2018 in the Mulhearn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Karl Huff and Rev. Kelly Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the NELA Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro, LA.

Don was born on December 4, 1936 in Fort Necessity and died at his residence on December 23, 2018. He loved his family, fishing, coaching, watching his grandchildren play ball. He loved gardening, frying fish, loved tomatoes. He loved his Winnsboro Wildcats. He taught at West Point Military Academy. He was 1989 Northeast Football Coach of the Year. Coached in the Louisiana High School Association All Star Games of 1995.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Leo and Dozie Lee Irverson Easterling and a brother, Mike Easterling.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sue Easterling of Winnsboro; daughters, Cindy Strickland and husband Buddy of Winnsboro and Kim Wilcher and husband Scott of Baskin; grandchildren, Kara Wilcher, Ty Wilcher, and Amy Peters; brother, Ralph Easterling and wife Peggy of Ft. Necessity; Special nephew, Tim Holloway of Winnsboro.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Strickland, Scott Wilcher, Tim Holloway, Ashley Peters, Brandon Easterling, Shea Easterling, and Ty Wilcher. Honorary pallbearers will be former Wildcat football and track athletes coached by Coach Don.

Visitation will be 5:00 until 7:00PM Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro, LA.
