Funeral Services celebrating the life of Mr. Donald Wallace “Don” Wills, 88, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 2, 2021, at Fair Park Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA, with Rev. Darris Waren officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, LA.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until service time on Monday.
Mr. Wills was born October 13, 1932 and passed away at his residence July 31, 2021. He was a member of Fair Park Baptist Church, where he enjoyed his prayer group and Sunday school class. He enjoyed reading, and his time with the lunch bunch. Don was a lifetime member of the NRA and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He served as a veteran in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, R. J. and Cora Wills; two brothers, Robert John Wills and Dean Wills; and sister, Carolyn Manhart.
Survivors include his wife of 68½ years, Shirley Wills; daughter, Lora Brewster and husband Richard; son, Don Wills, Jr. and wife Debbie; daughter, Nancy Guy; grandchildren, Brittany Forbis and husband Eddie, Ashley Knight Marsh, and Seth Knight and wife, Ana; five great grandchildren; and sister, Elwyna Smith.
Pallbearers will be Lane Newman, Neil Newman, John Harper, Mike Duke, Seth Knight, and Eddie Forbis.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Charles Barfield, Bob Brantley, George Abbott, Arthur Paschal, Clarence Lindsay, and Monroe Parker.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Carter Cox of Bastrop, LA, and Dr. Richard Leachman and Dr. Alberto Lopez both of St. Lukes Hospital in Houston, TX.
Memorials may be made to Operation Christmas Child or the India Orphanage at Fair Park Baptist Church.
