Funeral Services for Mr. Donald Richard Skipper, 71, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 4, 2011 at the West Ouachita Church of Christ with Ray Paseur and Keith Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in the Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens in West Monroe, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
Mr. Skipper was born in West Monroe, LA on February 8, 1940 and passed away on February 28, 2011 in Monroe, LA. He was a member of the West Ouachita Church of Christ and throughout the years served many churches in many cities including, Bawcomville, LA,West Monroe, LA, Spearsville, LA, Baton Rouge, LA, Laurel, MS, San Augustine, TX and Lilly, LA. Mr. Skipper graduated from West Monroe High School in 1958 and served as a missionary to several different countries as well as the United States since1965 ending in Romania.
Survivors include his wife, Joy Skipper; children, Renee Skipper Golden and husband, Keith and Donald Scot Skipper and wife, Debbie; mother, Opal Taylor; grandchildren, Emma Skipper, Austin and Mathew Culbertson, Hannah Golden, Alex Skipper, and Haley Golden; one great grandchild, Mikaela Skipper; step-sister, Johnnie Herrington and her family Pam Mann and husband, Bill, Johnette Langston and husband, Mike; and their children, Naomi Johnson and Hasten Langston.
Pallbearers will be Billy Aaron, Robert Steed, Todd Chapman, Keith George, Dewey Young, Harold Snowden and Troy Culp. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons of West Ouachita Church of Christ.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA
