Donald R. "Gunny" Price

Funeral Services for Mr. Donald R. “Gunny” Price, 77, of Calhoun, LA, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Highland Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA, with Rev. Gordon “Skip” Dean officiating. Interment will follow in Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, LA.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.

Mr. Price was born December 31, 1944 and passed away July 29, 2022. He was a member and deacon at Highland Baptist Church and also a member of Gideon’s International. Mr. Price was retired from the United States Marines and from the State of Louisiana Corrections. He also worked for Murphy Ammo for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Loraine Price; his wife, Norma Price; two brothers, J. D. Price and Thomas Howard Price; and sister, Kitty Hubbard.

Survivors include his son, Donald Russ Price, Jr. and wife Susan; daughter, Carla Gutierrez and husband Alonzo; grandchildren, Kalee Johnson (Cody), Maegan Reeves (Justin), Margarito Gutierrez (Sarah), Jesse Foster (Sam), John Price, Brandon Gutierrez, Amanda Gutierrez, Michael Gutierrez, and Hannah Price; seven great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Buford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be John Price, Cody Johnson, Jesse Foster, Michael Gutierrez, John Price, and Trace Coston.
