Graveside Services Celebrating the Life of Dolores Ponder Gewin, 90, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens in West Monroe, LA with Rev. Danny McIlveene officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
Mrs. Gewin was born in Pleasant Hill, LA on May 18, 1926 and passed away on February 21, 2017 in West Monroe, LA. She graduated from the St. Francis School of Nursing in 1946 and had a long career as a registered nurse. Mrs. Gewin was a member of Community Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA, where she enjoyed singing for her church. She was also a member of the Chief Tusquahoma Chapter, DAR. She was a talented and gifted seamstress who also loved to knit. Mrs. Gewin is preceded in death by her husband, Exell L. Gewin.
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Gewin and Janis Richardson and husband, Charles; grandchildren, Adam Richardson and wife, Amanda all of West Monroe, LA, and Sarah Daigle and husband, Andrew of Haughton, LA; three great grandchildren, Emma and Ben Richardson and Jonah Rulau.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Friday at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the Community Baptist Church Building Fund.
