Mrs. Dianne Bruscato
Funeral service for Mrs. Dianne Bruscato, 79, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 22, 2022, at St. Matthew Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in St. Matthew Catholic Church Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until service time Friday at St. Matthew Church.
Mrs. Bruscato was born on September 24, 1942, in Monroe and passed away on April 20, 2022, in Monroe. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and a member of the DAR. In high school, she was one of the top student graduates of her class. Later, she received her undergraduate degree followed by her master’s degree. She taught at ULM in the Physics Department for over thirteen years. She was a founding member of The Compassionate Friends. Her favorite pastime was spent with her husband, breeding, foaling, raising, and racing thoroughbreds. They both truly enjoyed spending time with their horses and the other thoroughbred owners and their families. Mrs. Bruscato was preceded in death by her two sons, Justin Bruscato and John Garrett Bruscato.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Frank Bruscato; two brothers-in-law, Tony Bruscato and Joe Bruscato; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Christus St. Joseph’s Nursing Home, St. Francis Specialty Hospital, and to the doctors, nurses, and staff who took exceptional care of Mrs. Bruscato over the last several years.
Pallbearers will be Don Trichel, Jason Courtney, Dallas Crain, John Bruscato, French Smith, Mike Colvin, Frank R. Varino, and Dr. Vincent Forte. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Jones, Keith Babb, Jim Nolan, Robert Liljeberg, Bob Rickett, Andrew Cascio, John "Pab" Cruz, and Dr. George Gowan.
Memorials may be made to the John Garrett Bruscato Memorial Scholarship at ULM.
