Diane Stevenson-Harris was born June 13, 1955, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Louis Lewis Mckinley and Velma Stevenson. Respectfully, the late Gene and Lillie Mae Houston reared her. We are sad to announce her death on February 26, 2025, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, LA after a brief illness.
At an early age, Diane was baptized and dedicated her life to the Lord. She sang in the church choir and served in the gifts, helps, and hospitality ministries. A proud graduate of John McDonogh Senior High School, Diane had a passion for cooking and baking. She cherished the times when she could gather family and friends for her beloved "get togethers." Her warmth and hospitality made every occasion special and memorable.
Diane enjoyed a diverse career as an Independent Sales Consultant for Home Interiors, where she built lasting relationships through her interpersonal skills. Later, she transitioned to a role as a Security Officer at JP Morgan Chase until her retirement in 2019.
She leaves to cherish her memories: husband, Herbert Harris, Monroe, Louisiana; (5) children: Herbert C. Smith, Jr. (LaTrice), Trinity Smith, Yakima Smith, Alfoncena Izonica Stevenson (Bobby, Sr.) all of Monroe, Louisiana, and Tocara Smith Wells (Kelvin) of Arlington, Texas; (12) grandchildren; (1) great grandchild; (1) brother, Jeffrey Carter (Annette); (3) sisters, Lisa Carter of New Orleans, Louisiana, Carolyn Carter Holden (Karl) of Baker, Louisiana, and Karen Carter of Monroe, Louisiana; her best sister friend, Patricia Ann Green (Jerome) of New Orleans, Louisiana; her godson, Jack Bennett of Rockwell, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services celebrating Diane’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday March 8, 2025, at the Prevailing Faith Bible Church in Monroe, LA with Pastor Charles Brown officiating and the Mistress of Ceremony will be Sister Patsy Brown. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA, Services Entrusted to Mulhearn Funeral Home.
Repass will be held at Emily P. Robinson, 3504 Jackson Street Monroe, La.
Pallbearers will be Herbert Smith, Jr., Leslie Davis, Jr., Devon Smith, Calvin Williams, Jr., Demontae Charleston, and LeJerric Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be Herbert Harris, Jeffrey Carter, Sr., Jeffrey Carter, Jr., Bobby Davis, Sr., Bobby Davis, Jr., Trevon Smith, Jonah Carter, Japheth Carter, and Jerrod Walker.
