Funeral services for Derek DeLane McGrew, 37, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday March 1, 2017 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA with Rev. Tim Mosher officiating. Interment will be in Fellowship Cemetery near Columbia, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.
Derek died February 26, 2017 at his residence.
Derek enjoyed all sports, singing and flirting with the girls.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cilton Buford Mills and Noble Hollis and Barbara Jean McGrew.
Survivors: Parents, David DeLane and Shelia M. McGrew; Sisters, Amber Gates and husband, Tadd and Whitney McGrew; Nieces and Nephews, Alli Grace Gates, Auri Race Gates, Ryder DeLane McGrew Bailey and Tripp D. McGrew; Numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins
Pallbearers will be Tadd Gates, Tommy Kelley, Michael Leehy, Jamie Coon, Robbie Hodges, and Darby Harrell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jay LaGrone and Shawn Mills.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
The family would like to give special thanks to his caregivers, Zach Dunlap, Charmaine Owens, and Sandra Banks.
Memorials may be made to Le Bonheur Neuroscience Institute in Memphis, TN.
