Denny Audette Boultinghouse

Denny Boultinghouse was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, on September 1, 1950 and passed away In Franklin, Tennessee, on July 28, 2018, at the age of 67. He was the son of Harvey and Nelda Boultinghouse.
Denny made friends with everyone he met. He loved to tease and was always ready with a practical joke.
Denny gave his life to Kingdom service. His lifetime of sharing God’s grace began in Oildale, California, as an associate pastor of Oildale Church of Christ when he was only 25 years old. For 10 years, he taught others about God’s unconditional love and amazing grace.
From there, he moved to West Monroe, Louisiana, where, in partnership with John and Alton Howard and Reuel Lemmons, he started Image Magazine. Image became a forum for Churches of Christ for fruitful discussion of life in God’s family for another ten years.
His final professional years were spent working with Howard Publishing as an acquisition editor. He worked with authors like Rubel Shelly, Mike Cope, Rick Warren, John Baker, Joe Beam and many more. He charmed everyone he worked with and many of them became lifelong friends.
Denny lived his life in amazement of God’s grace to sinners like him. He often said that when life seemed unfair or the evil and suffering in the world overwhelmed him,; he would turn his eyes to the Cross. He understood that nothing in this world could nullify God’s love--as demonstrated in Christ’s death for us.
Denny is survived by his wife, Philis; his daughter, Cryst; his grandchildren, Nicholas and Sophia; and his brother Randy. He was preceded by his son, Jason Blue Boultinghouse.

Memorial services celebrating Denny’s life will be held at 6:30 P.M. Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at White’s Ferry Rd. Church of Christ in West Monroe, LA, with a visitation period for family and friends to follow.
