Funeral services for Mrs. Della Lorene Stroud, 85, of Monroe, will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, May 29, 2009, at Calvary Baptist Church, Monroe, LA with Rev. Bobby McGee officiating. Graveside services will be at 3:30 PM at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Atlanta, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mrs. Stroud passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Lee Stroud; and husband of 62 years, Archie (Jack) Stroud.
Survivors include son, Jack Stroud and wife Kim of Calhoun, LA; grandson, Adam Stroud of Calhoun, LA; two granddaughters, Hallie Patton and husband Richie Patton of Quitman, LA, and Heather Stroud of Calhoun, LA; great grandson, Jake Patton of Quitman, LA; two great granddaughters, Anna Kay Patton of Quitman, LA, and Ella Ann Stroud of Calhoun, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Adam Stroud, Richie Patton, Sonny Tarpley, and Ronnie Walsworth. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Gilmore, Harry Roberts, and James Johnston.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 28, 2009, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Craig Turner, Dr. Arthur Liles, Dr. Ronald Koepke, Dr. Frank Sartor, and Dr. John Cooksey.
