Funeral Services for Debbie Stokes, 65, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 6, 2022, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until service time on Thursday.
Debbie Stokes was born May 10, 1956 and passed away December 31, 2021. For over 45 years, she worked for the State of Louisiana and 35 of those years she was an officer with Louisiana Department of Public Safety. Debbie enjoyed cooking, music, shopping, spending time with her family, Yellowstone, and her dog Sophie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James A. “Bud” and Audrey “Bib” Coleman.
Survivors include her son, Todd Stokes of Mt. Eden, KY; daughter, Meagan Stokes-French and husband Casey of West Monroe, LA; sister, Wilma Cowart and husband Alan; nephews, Brandon Cowart and wife Katie and their two daughters, Vivienne and Madeline of Denver, CO, and Jeremy Cowart of Kingwood, TX; two aunts, Nettie Jean Strickland of Lecompte, LA, and Rose McGowen of Monroe, LA.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Reeves, John Peters, Ed Sawyer, Jackie Coleman, Michael Bickford, and Andy Stephenson, all with Troop F, Louisiana State Troopers.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home.
