Graveside services for David Michael Burgess will be held at the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Rayville on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 1 P.M. under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Rayville. Officiating will be Rev. Tim Johnson. Mr. Burgess passed away on March 19, 2019 at his home surrounded by family and loved ones.
Mr. Burgess in proceeded in death by his parents Claude Richard Burgess and wife Ruby Margaret Wilson Burgess. Also proceeding him in death were his siblings: Jimmy Howington, Jenni Howington, Benny Howington, Brenda Howington, Kathy Burgess Eubanks, and Ricky Burgess.
Mr. Burgess was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. He was known to enjoy playfully aggravating his beloved grandkids. He also loved to ride around and visit with friends and was known as a real people person. He also loved his family, spending time with his kids, the oilfield, and was a huge Saints football fan. Mr. Burgess really loved and enjoyed the TV programs Street Racer and Forged in Fire. He had a real interest in the CB world, and was known to enjoy and say “breaker 1-9 this is Rubber Ducky.”
Mr. Burgess is survived by his sons, David Michael Burgess and wife Tracy of Rayville, Josh Burgess of Mangham, and Michael Hall of Monroe. Daughter Dana Nobles and husband Bill of Mangham. Thirteen (13) grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Josh Burgess, Buddy Felter, Bill Nobles, Gary Nobles, and David Burgess
Visitation will be held at the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Rayville on Thursday, March 21, 2109 from 10 A.M. to 12 noon.
