David Ray Lowrey

David Ray Lowrey, 65, of Sterlington, Louisiana, passed away after a brief illness on October 12th.

David was a kind and loving husband to his spouse, Tammy Lowrey, as well as an amazing father to their children and papaw to their grandchildren. He recently retired from Chauvin Point, where he loved and cared for every resident he met. Whatever role he attempted to fill, he was bound and determined to do his best. David managed his illness with strength and grace and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. On his final day, he was surrounded by his family, who he adored more than anything else in the world.

David will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 36 years, Tammy Lowrey; children, Samuel Lowrey, Mandy Lowrey, and Kim Ensminger & husband Chris Ensminger; grandchildren: Madison Matthews, Landen Matthews, Lawsen Matthews, Lily Claire Ensminger, and Charleigh Kate Ensminger; brother, Dennis Lowrey & wife Tracy Lowrey; in-laws: James & Mary Robinson, Wendy Holland & husband Mike Holland, Tracy Maxwell and husband Russell Maxwell; nephews: Brandon Lowrey & wife Krysta Lowrey, Chad Lowrey and fiancé Jessica Bradshaw, Justin Phillips, Seth Holland, Heath Maxwell & wife Betsy Maxwell; nieces: Taylor Hudson & husband Creed Hudson, Ashley Maxwell; as well as numerous additional relatives and friends.

He was preceeded in death by his daughter, April Lowrey; granddaughter, Falyn Rae Ensminger; father, Dave Berwick; mothers, Sarah Berwick and Thelma Lowrey; and nephews, Denny Lowrey and Wesley Phillips.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and Elara Caring for their care and compassion.

Pallbearers will be Dylan Moore, Trent Turner, Cannon Leath, Dalton Daniel, Jack Beard, Bailyn Mckoin, Carson Millikin, Stanton Matte and Hunter Harrell.

Funeral services for Mr. David Ray Lowrey, 65, of Sterlington, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 15, 2022, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until time of service.
