Memorial Services celebrating the life of Mr. David Louis Dorries, 68, of Calhoun, LA, will be 11:00 AM Monday, August 13, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. R. B. Moore officiating.
Mr. Dorries was born March 2, 1950, and passed away on August 8, 2018. He was vice-president and director of sales for AIMS. Mr. Dorries enjoyed mentoring fellow co-workers. He taught his children and grandchildren about the outdoors. He enjoyed tinkering with woodworks, carpentry, and electronics. Mr. Dorries loved being on Lake Claiborne. His passion was playing with and entertaining his grandchildren. He loved cooking, especially barbequing. He was a gun enthusiast who also loved fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hugo Louis Dorries and Irma Isabelle Spradling; and niece, Lisa Howe.
Survivors include his wife of almost 25 years, Linda L. Dorries; three sons, Michael Bancroft (Lisa) of Newport Beach, CA, Jason Bancroft (Dana) of Corona, CA, and Scott Bancroft of Orange, CA; seven grandchildren, Shelby, Shane, Analiese, Conrad, Elizabeth, Cole and Sawyer; aunt, Imogene Dothager of Houston, TX; sister, Barbara Howe (Gerry) of Atlanta, GA; nephew, Bill Howe (Tammy) of Seattle, WA; two cousins, Teresa Dothager of Houston, TX and Denise Messenger of Rancho Cucamonga, CA.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy Linder, Ryan Linder, Bill Howe, Will Palmer, Robert Canterbury, Travis Roberts, and Alan Goodall.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Monday, at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
