Funeral services for David Lee Kosik, 87, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, with Rev. James Dominic and Rev. Keith Garvin officiating. Interment will follow at Alexandria Memorial Gardens, Alexandria, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mr. Kosik was born September 30, 1931, to Alexander and Bertha Tobis Kosik and passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2018. He married Cora Lee Simms on January 22, 1955. Dave served in the United States Air Force and together with their children they lived in many places, March Air Force Base, Riverside, CA, South Carolina, England, Japan, Okinawa, England Air Force Base in Alexandria, LA, where he retired in 1972. In the fall of 1986, they moved to Lufkin, TX, until they again retired in 1997. Then they moved to be closer to family in Monroe, LA.
Mr. Kosik was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Lee Kosik; daughter, Kathy Kosik; parents, Alexander and Bertha Tobis Kosik; siblings, Irma Stephens, Irene Wood, Eddie Kosik, Ethel Collins, Helen Lane, and Annabelle Drasky.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth “Ken” Lee Kosik (Connie), Michael Anthony Kosik (Debbie); 6 grandchildren, Ryan Kosik (Emily), Jason Kosik, Jennifer Kosik Guerriero (Peter), Nicole Kosik Koserog (Charlie), Allison Kosik Foret (Hunter), and Mary Beth Kosik; 9 great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Violet, Charlotte Kosik, JP, Grady, Molly, Mark Ryan Guerriero, Tripp Koserog, and Harper Foret; two special nieces, Dona Connole, Diane Kosik Smith and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Kosik, Jason Kosik, Peter Guerriero, Hunter Foret, Charlie Koserog, and Steven Ingram. Honorary pallbearers, Joey Trahan, Andy Trahan, Kyle Miller, Ben Gremillion, Darin Uptigrove, and the Knight of Columbus Council 1337 Assembly 329.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday, November 2, 2018, and a Rosary at 6:00 PM Friday at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road.
Memorials may be made to Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church or the Knights of Columbus Council 1337.
