David Lavelle Ellis

Funeral services for David Lavelle Ellis, 83, of Sterlington, will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 16, 2017, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Ben Hackler officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Ellis was born March 12, 1934 and passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017 at University Health. He was retired from Texas Gas after 38 years and was a member of First Baptist of Sterlington. Mr. Ellis loved to fish, hunt, and farming. He loved the time he spent at Sterlington Recreation.

Mr. Ellis was preceded in death by his wife 51+ years, Doris Ellis; and brothers, Winfred, Leroy, and John R.

Survivors include his children, Henry and Larry (Andrea) Ellis; grandchildren, Kim (Donnie) Sullivan, Katie (Michael) Andrade; great grandchildren, Tray Sullivan, and 2 more arriving in 2018; 10 step grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Dale, Harvey Ray, and Billy Tom.

Pallbearers will be Lynn Powell, Jr., Donnie Sullivan, Jr., Nick Bradshaw, Josh Sullivan, Steven Williams, Jr., and D J Linton.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
