David Kenneth Talley

Private family funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. David Kenneth Talley, 85, of Monroe, LA will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday February 27, 2021 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Because of the pandemic we would ask that you practice social distancing and masks will be required.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until services. Mr. Talley passed away on February 23, 2021 at his residence surrounded by family. After graduation from high school, David joined the United States Navy as an Air Traffic Controller and became a member of their baseball team. After his enlistment he continued his baseball career professionally for a brief period. He was a hard worker being self employed in numerous business ventures. He retired as the owner of Juma Farms Manufacturing Co. David was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his boys on golf trips. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy (Dot) Talley, parents, John King and Pearl Talley and his brother, Bobby Talley.
Survivors: his sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Cathy Whipple and Michael and Annsley Talley; Grandchildren, Garrett Whipple, Mallory Talley, Patrick Whipple, Adam Whipple, Michael David Talley, Reid Talley, Ford Talley; and great granddaughter, Miley Grace Cox. Pallbearers will be Michael David Talley, Patrick Whipple, Adam Whipple, Garrett Whipple, John Garrett, and Tommy Garrett. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gary Cox and Kenneth Slomosky. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Med Camps of Louisiana.
