David Alvin Furr

Memorial services for David Alvin Furr, 82, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 25, 2018, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Monroe, with The Rev'd Dawnell Stodghill officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow the service in the fellowship hall of the church. Interment will be in the St. Thomas Episcopal Columbarium, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe.

Mr. Furr was born November 12, 1935, in Picayune, MS, and passed away on August 18, 2018, in Monroe, LA. David was co-owner and President of Applied Computer Techniques. He served as an officer in the Mississippi National Guard and was a long-time member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church.

Mr. Furr was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Rials Furr and Ruby Thornhill Furr.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Jeanette Thrasher Furr; children, Kay Furr Pressley, and Kim Furr Beale and husband Tom; 7 grandchildren, Hannah, Sarah, Jacob, and Caleb Pressley, and Noah, Jonah and Lilli Beale; and 2 sisters, Iva Loy Chamber, and Charleen Schrock.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
