David Adams

A graveside service for Mr. David Adams, 70, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel in Monroe, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA.

David Adams was born in Baton Rouge in the year 1954. As a boy, he moved with his family to Monroe, Louisiana. He attended Neville High School and then went on to ULM (was NLU) and graduated Cum Laude in Construction. David worked 13 years as a Construction Engineer and worked on many nuclear power plants and one petro-chemical plant. During that time, David moved to and worked in Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Kansas, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Florida and finally, Texas. After working as a Construction Engineer, David moved back to Monroe and worked on various jobs. The most notable occupation for David in Monroe was working as a Construction Administrator for Architecture Plus in the structural department. That was one of his most favorite jobs, which included checking structural shop drawings and doing structural steel inspections.

David always enjoyed staying fit with activities like running, biking, weightlifting, and kayaking. At age 68, he won the Moon to Monroe Kayak Race. If you were to ask him about the race, he would say, “It’s better to be lucky than good,” or “the race is not always won by the swift.” 

David was a Christian and was a member of North Monroe Baptist Church. If David was here now he would say, “Don’t cry for me because I am now with my Lord Jesus Christ and at my true eternal home!”
