Graveside services for Mr. Daniel Washington Brister, 90, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday December 2, 2013 at Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens in West Monroe with Rev. Marcelle Ronquille officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe.
Mr. Brister died November 29, 2013 at the Ridgecrest Nursing Home in West Monroe.
Mr. Brister was a retired Truck Driver with Manville Forest Products. He served in the United States Navy during World War II in the South Pacific on the USS Essex. Dan enjoyed walking at the Glenwood Mall, visiting with his McDonald’s Coffee Club and his trips to Shreveport.
He was preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Minna Mae Brister, Brothers, J.D., Earl, Dean, and T. J.; his sisters, Dorothy Hance, Elaine Brown, Ann Brister, and Hazel Shaver; and special son-in-law, Len Accardo.
Survivors: wife of 67 years, Mrs. Lucille Brister; Daughters, Linda Gibson, Margaret Accardo, Becky Medlin (Scooter), Rita Richardson (Raymond), Sons, Danny (Bubba) Brister (Jeannette) and Randy Brister; 17 Grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Grandsons, Ryan Accardo, Greg Accardo, Kirk Brister, Nathan Medlin, and Jacob Brister, and his nephew, Tommy Brister.
Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Sunday at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the charity of your choice.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Staff at Ridgecrest Nursing Home for their care of Mr. Brister.
