Daniel "Steve" Sims

Graveside Services for Mr. Daniel “Steve” Sims, 61, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA, with Michael Fox officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. on Tuesday at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.

Steve was born February 16, 1960 and passed away April 10, 2021. He loved to fish, eat good food and playing the lottery. Steve could build anything you could think of and enjoyed attending church at D’arbonne Church of Christ and food and fellowship after church. He enjoyed tinkering on things and being a prankster. Steve was also the “Mayor” of the Arbor Lake Nursing Home and enjoyed cutting up with everyone.

Survivors include his children, Steven Sims (Rebecca), Dustin DeLancy (Jamie), Dana Clampit, Danielle Hegwood (Jimbo), Daniel DeLancy (Kristin), David DeLancy (Kristi), Ryan Sims, Ali Sims, Caden Sims, and Macy Sims; his mother, Ida Herrington; grandchildren, Kolten, Kiley, Veronica, Riley, Drake, Eli, Seth, Natalie, Brooklyn, Beaux, Kallie, Ella, Marlee, Cooper, Hudson, Brooks, and Taylor; three great grandchildren, Hayze, Everlie, and Memphis; sister, Paula Joseph (Johnny); brother, Scott Sims (Tammy); niece, Jenny Poole (Shannon); nephew, John Joseph (Amanda); and niece, Stephanie Gifford.

Pallbearers will be Steven Sims, Dustin DeLancy, Daniel DeLancy, David DeLancy, John Joseph, and Eli Clampit. Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Arbor Lake Nursing Home, especially to Sherry Jones and his special friend, Claudia Warlick.
