Funeral services for Mrs. Dalton Jean Phillips, 93, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, March 15, 2019, at St. Matthew Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Franklin and Deacon Scott Brandle officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday at Mulhearn Funeral Home, 2308 Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mrs. Phillips was born May 23, 1925, in Monroe, LA, and passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church where she was baptized, received first communion, confirmed, and married. Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Northeast Louisiana Dance Club and Northeast Louisiana Seniors Bass Club. She was a retired registered nurse, who worked for Anderson Regional Medical Center and then was a public health nurse for the State of Mississippi covering nine counties.
Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her parents, Charles E. Miller Sr, and Charlotte Robbins Miller; husband, Cameron W. Phillips, Sr.; and brother, Charles E. Miller, Jr.
Survivors include her sons, Cameron W. Phillips, Jr and wife Cindy of Fredericksburg, TX, Robert C. Phillips of Monroe, and John Steven Phillips and wife Thyra of Meridian, MS; daughter, Mary Lynn Martin and husband Gary of Rayville, LA; brother, William W. Miller and wife Suzi of Little Rock, AR; nine grandchildren, and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Billie Massey, Michael Chappell, Billy Cardin, Will Cardin, C J Cardin, and Randall Friedrich. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon L. Cardin and Bill John.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to Dr. Mike Sampognaro, Dr. Greg Sampognaro, and St. Joseph Hospice (Misty and Glenda).
