Funeral Services for Crafton L. “Dooley” May, 85, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00A.M., Friday, February 26, 2016 at Cypress Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Eubanks and Rev. Chad Ballard officiating. Interment will follow in Cypress Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.Crafton was born on January 25, 1931 in Grayson, LA and passed away peacefully at his home February 23, 2016. He was a member of Cypress Baptist Church. Crafton proudly served in the United States Air Force. After many years, Crafton “Dooley” retired from Manville Paper Mill then went to work for Pinecrest Elementary School as the maintenance man where he was loved by all. You could always find Crafton piddling in his garden, feeding his catfish, working in his greenhouse, or cruising with Mrs. Yvonne in their golf cart. Crafton adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially joking around with them and riding them around. We will always miss those big bear hugs and his mayhaw “papaw’s” jelly.He is preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Marie May; parents, William T. and Irene May; siblings, Waylon May, Mervin “Buck” May, Doris Aulds, and Mavis Weeks; grandson, Will May.Crafton is survived by his children, Charles Lee May and wife Ginger, Karen Sue Evans and husband Randy, David May and wife Katie; grandchildren, Misty Fox and husband Ben, Scott Evans and wife Zola, Brandy Evans and fianc Chase Craig, Brad Evans, Matt May, Harrison , Teller , and Sims May; great-grandchildren, Chandler Chism, Reese Evans, Alyssa Evans, Colton Chism, Cooper Mulhearn, and Sarah Kate Chism; sister, Mardell Floyd; sister-in- law, Mary Alice Hutchinson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.Pallbearers will be Scott Evans, Brad Evans, Matt May, Harry Whittington, Jeff Brown, Tommy Comeaux, Randy May, Patrick and Spencer Barrett.Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Cypress Baptist Church, West Monroe. Memorials may be made to the Cypress Baptist Church, The Alzheimer’s Association, or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.Special thanks to Amy, Odis, Hospice Compassus, the Friday girl, Debbie, Karitha, Courtney, Ginger, and Lydia for the love and care they gave Crafton.
