Cory Shane Reeves

Funeral services celebrating the life of Cory Shane Reeves, 52, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, January 12, 2025, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA with Rev. Patrick Petrus officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until service time on Sunday at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.

Cory was born on July 30, 1972 in Millington, TN, and passed away on January 4, 2025 in Memphis, TN. Cory retired from working in the oilfield in 2023, as a well control engineer where he worked for 28 years. During his marriage to Jennifer, they enjoyed many adventures. They have traveled and visited many destinations together and with their family and friends. Cory loved to be surrounded by his family and friends and his smile was infectious. He enjoyed cruising around on any body of water in his boat with whomever wanted to join. Cory loved and doted on his wife daily and after retiring , he began referring to himself as “ house husband and dog dad of Milton and Willa”. He will forever be in our hearts, and we will truly miss his sweet soul. 

Cory is preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth “Pete” and Elizabeth Brister and Herbert and Bessie Reeves; his uncle, Rayford Reeves; father-in-law, Jim Kelly.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jennifer; parents, Ralph and Cheryl Reeves; sister, Lindsay Stencel and husband, Jon and their children, Genevieve and Eliza; sister-in-law, Renee Festervan and husband, Jim and their sons, Dalton and Dylan; brother-in-law, Jimmy Kelly and wife, Paige and their children, Cole, Gracie, Emma, and Jillian; mother-in-law, Lana Cummings; uncle, Kenny Brister and wife, Sandy and their children, Ashley Merrill and husband, Jason, Bailie George and husband, Matt; aunt, Theresa Eppinette and husband, Dyar and their children, Bart Thomas and fiancé, Jessie, Deuce Eppinette and wife, Colleen; aunt, Margaret Barker and her children, Janna Tarver and husband, Al and Jason Barker and wife, Kay; uncle, Max Reeves and wife, Greta and their daughters, Staci, Shannon, and Stephanie; and cousin, Jamie McClendon and her husband, B.J.

Pallbearers will be Warren Hanks, Clint Coleman, Thom Hamilton, Brandon Archer, Hampton Roane, Patrick Petrus, Jon Stencel, Jimmy Kelly, Jim Festervan, and Sean Christan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Grant Goodeaux and Jason Correro.
