Funeral Services for Mrs. Connie Hodnett, 53, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, February 3, 2019, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA, with Rev. Neil Everett officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Hodnett was born October 13, 1965 and passed away January 30, 2019. During her life, she married the man of her dreams and raised four boys into four great men. Six years ago, a granddaughter was brought into this family. She was the sparkle in Connie’s eye, and whom she loved with all her heart. This was her first love, and her family was her life. Connie enjoyed spending summer days fishing with her boys, afternoons in her many vibrant flowerbeds, and evenings teaching her granddaughter how to cook. A few years ago, she discovered her second love, cast iron cookware and junking. Many, many hours were spent buying, restoring and selling her treasures. This also led to her crossing the paths of some very wonderful acquaintances and friends all of which she loved dearly.
Over the last several months, Connie’s family surrounded her and this made her life full. Her heart was content; as she was with the people she loved most. Not enough can be said about such an amazing woman, but God gained a very precious Angel and if He has any cast iron that needs attention, He called the right woman Home.
Survivors include her husband, Vyron Hodnett; sons, Jared Smith, Benjamin Hodnett and wife Denise, Joshua Hodnett, and V.J. Hodnett; granddaughter, Isabella Hodnett; sisters, Debbie Lieber and husband Don, Denise Tuell and husband Rick, and Kathy Reed; brothers, Steve Crain and wife Stacy, and Doug Crain and wife Jean; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her sons, Jared, Benjamin, Joshua and V.J., and also, Courtney Smith and Jamie Weems.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until service time on Sunday.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the American Cancer Society.
