Columbus L Smith, Jr.

Graveside Services for Mr. Columbus L. “Buddy” Smith, Jr., 79, of Bossier City, LA, will be 1:00 PM Friday, April 11, 2025, at New Winnsboro Cemetery in Winnsboro, LA, with Rev. Alex Devillier officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Winnsboro.

Mr. Smith was born May 30, 1945, and passed away on April 6, 2025. Buddy was born in Winnsboro, LA. He attended school in Winnsboro and LA Tech University with a Civil Engineering degree. He served his country in the United States Navy during Vietnam as a Naval Aviator and retired as a Commander.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Columbus L. Smith and Lucille Brantley Smith; and brother, Robert “Bobby” Smith.

Survivors include his two sons, James “Jim” Smith and wife Lisa, and Jason B. Smith and wife Jennifer; two grandchildren, Haden C. Smith and wife Ada and Korbin J. Smith of Benton, LA; two sisters, Caroline Sims and husband Frank, and Judy Parker and husband Tyrone; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Brookdale Assisted Living of Bossier City, LA and Passages Hospice.

Memorials may be made to the Veterans Administration or the American Cancer Society.
