Clyde M. Hodge (86) passed from this life on Saturday, November 3, 2018. The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 623 US-80, Monroe, with interment to follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Officiating will be son-in-law, Rev. Thomas Patterson, pastor of the HOPE Church in Evangeline, LA, and Rev. Todd Gregory.
Clyde was born December 21, 1931, in Litroe, LA, to J.C. and Myrtie Hodge. Following high school graduation, Mr. Hodge received his degree in accounting from LA Tech, then served in the U.S. Army for two years. He began his career with Lee National Life, retiring as President of Statesman National Life of Houston, TX, in 1996.
Upon retiring, Clyde and Mary returned to Monroe, LA. His hobbies included fishing, gardening, and woodworking. He also served his church as teacher and deacon.
Mr. Hodge was preceded in death by his parents, Jewel C. Hodge and Myrtie Spell Hodge; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Hodge.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Knox Hodge; daughters: Susan (Thomas) Patterson and Amy (Steven) Purcell; three grandchildren: Brian (Emily) Patterson, Aaron Patterson, and Ainsley Purcell; and great-grandchildren: Aubree Patterson and Brayden Patterson. He is also survived by his sister, Clara (Wes) Green; and brother, Don Hodge.
Pallbearers will be Brian Patterson, Aaron Patterson, Steven Purcell, Don Hodge, Todd Gregory, and Dillard DeLaSalle.
Visitation will be from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel in Monroe.
