Funeral mass celebrating the life of Mrs. Christine Elizabeth Roberts, 91, of Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 5, 2022, at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Monroe, LA with Rev. Joe Martina officiating. Entombment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Oakwood Mausoleum, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA.
Visitation will be from noon until 1:30 P.M. Friday at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
Mrs. Roberts died July 29, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church and was baptized and married at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Monroe. She was a longtime member of the Columbus Social Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Alton (John) Roberts; parents, Michael (Tony) and Mica Marie Jacola; son-in-law, James Michael (Mike) Sewell; brother, Joseph M. Jacola; and brother-in-law, Carl M. Williams.
Survivors: Daughter, Alma Roberts Sewell; Sons and Daughters-in-law, Michael John and Marsha Roberts, and James and Brenda Roberts; Sister, Vita Marie Williams; Sister-in-law, Rose Jacola; Grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Bridges (Bradley), Matthew Sewell (Ainel), Michael C. Roberts, Matt Roberts, Jamie Dendy (Jeff), Jenny Jones (Corey), Julie McLemore (Trey), Tyler Jackson, and Austin Jackson (Anne Marie); Great Grandchildren, Sienna, Ella Kate, Hunter Sewell; Bella and Maelyn Roberts; Jase and John Robert Dendy; Cameron, Carson, and Cannon Jones; Presley and James McLemore; Olivia and Lily Jackson; numerous nieces and nephews, Michael D. Jacola (Pam), Toni Roth, Terri Tripi (Phil), Joey Jacola (Tonja), Kim Dozier (Don), Anthony Jacola (Vickie).
Pallbearers will be Michael John Roberts, James Roberts, Michael Christopher Roberts, Matthew Sewell, Matt Roberts, Tyler Jackson, Austin Jackson, and Joey Jacola.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Bradley Bridges, Jeff Dendy, Corey Jones, and Trey McLemore.
Christine had a strong devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and recited her rosary daily.
She was a member of the Association of the Miraculous Medal for over 52 years.
