Interment will be held in the Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, Monroe under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Chester was born on April 20, 1924 in Jamestown, LA and after a brief illness, he passed from this broken world into the arms of Jesus, hearing the words “well done, my good and faithful Chester” on September 2, 2021. He was welcomed by a host of loved ones gone before him.
Chester spent his life dedicated to providing for his family in every way. He was a proud veteran of WWII, donating to several charities for Veterans. He married his darling, Bettye in 1944. Together, they raised 3 girls.
Tinkering with cars as a youngster, he mastered the art of engines. Along with being a self-taught electrician, he used these hobbies, helping family and friends, in addition to his paying job at Olin Kraft for 30 years.
As a member of First Baptist Church, he served as a deacon, singing tenor with the Singing Sams, and the unofficial church mechanic. He was also a member of the American Legion Hall. Alongside the Volunteer Christian Builders, he and Bettye traveled helping churches. Chester never met a stranger or missed the chance to help someone in need.
