Funeral services for Charlotte Sallie Kirkpatrick, 92, of Monroe, will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 16, 2018, at Grace Episcopal Church in Monroe, with The Rev. Michael J. Bordelon officiating. Interment will be at the Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Mrs. Kirkpatrick died quietly on March 12, 2018. Born in 1925 in Granite City IL, she grew up in St. Louis. After 11 happy years as a commercial artist, she married Paul Kenneth Kirkpatrick, Jr., in 1954, and the couple moved to the Washington, DC, area soon afterwards. Their daughter, Christian, was born there in 1958. In 1960 they moved to Monroe, where their son, Timothy, was born in 1965.
A long-time parishioner at Grace Episcopal Church, Mrs. Kirkpatrick was a former member of the Daughters of the King. She also belonged for many years to the Twentieth Century Book Club and the Bayou DeSiard Country Club Ladies Golf Association. Through the years she also enjoyed walking, sketching, watching movies, and traveling - especially to visit her children and their offspring.
Mrs. Kirkpatrick attended Washington University, George Mason University, and the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Paul Kirkpatrick; children, Christian Kirkpatrick and Timothy Paul Kirkpatrick; son-in-law, Robert Murdich; daughter-in-law, Jamie Kirkpatrick; grandchildren, Christopher Ludovici, Patricia Ludovici, Connor Kirkpatrick, and Riley Kirkpatrick; and great-grandson, Samuel Ludovici. She was predeceased by her parents, Edna and Claude Reynolds; her sister, Marion Johnmann; and her brother-in-law, Frank Johmann.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Ludovici, Connor Kirkpatrick, Charles Herold, Steve North, Frank Spooner, Larry Winters, John Pruitt, and J.B. Landry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Williams, Graham Schneider, Dick McGivern, Charles McDonald, Charles Beene, Ben Price, Jack Gaines, and Ronnie Shelby.
Visitation will be at Kilbourne Hall at Grace Episcopal Church from 10:00 AM until service time, Friday March 16, 2018.
