Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. for Charlotte Bowers Page Colquette and Jerrell Colquette in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA. Visitation to be held from 9:30 A.M. until the service begins on Saturday.
Charlotte was born on March 24, 1940 and was raised in the United Methodist Children's Home in Ruston, LA, with her beloved sister, Marie. She met and married William “Freddie” Page at the age of 16. They had two sons, Fred and Michael, and lived in Baton Rouge until Freddie’s death in 1971. Charlotte returned to Monroe, where she worked at Central Bank.
Jerrell was born on March 9, 1942 and was raised in Oak Grove, LA. He served two tours in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart and Oak Leaf Cluster Bronze Medal Large; Air Medal; Army Commendation Medal: National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal and Bronze Star Attachment (single); Combat Infantryman Badge 1st Award; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon with Device; and the Expert Badge and Rifle Bar. He had two children, Angela and Missy.
Charlotte and Jerrell were married on August 8, 1975 and made their home in Monroe. She worked in the banking industry and then with her brother-in-law, James Crawford. Jerrell was a plumber/pipefitter working for many years with Regal Mechanical. They were members of North Monroe Baptist Church and the Richard Runnels’ Life Group.
Jerrell was a man’s man with an incredible work ethic – and he loved as hard as he worked. Charlotte was known for her kind, sweet disposition – along with her fiery personality. They shared a loved for bantering with one another. Their love and devotion to each other and the Lord sustained them through their 43 years of marriage.
Charlotte peacefully passed from this life at 6:30 A.M. on December 4th at her home following a brief recurrence of lung cancer. Jerrell joined her at Noon that same day following complications from surgery. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Freddie” Page, Sr.; an infant son, Richard Page; a son, William “Fred” Page, Jr.; a sister, Marie and brother, “Bud”. He was preceded in death by his parents, Greene and Gertrude Colquette; two brothers, Newell and Colburn Colquette and two sisters, Mavis Day and Flois Gore.
They are survived by his brother, Karon Colquette of Oak Grove; her son, Michael Page and wife, Libby Page of West Monroe; his daughters, Angela Webb and Missy Bulloch of Crossett, AR; daughter-in-law, Cyd Page Jacobs and her husband, Joey Jacobs of Monroe; grandchildren: Jessica Page Johnston and husband Jeremy of Shreveport; Aly Page Taylor and husband Josh of West Monroe; Matthew and David Page of West Monroe; Brooke and Macy Webb and Trace and Emma Bulloch all of Crossett, AR; great grandchildren: Liam and Beckham Johnston; Genevieve, Vera and Lydia Taylor and Fynlee Williams; several nieces, nephews and loved ones as well as their beloved yorkie, Sweetie.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Page, David Page, Trace Bulloch, Jeremy Johnston, Josh Taylor, Keith “Whitey” Boyd, Ben Boyd, Benjamin Boyd, Jonathan Boyd and Joey Jacobs.
